Why you should keep at least one day rest per week

This text is based on my notes of David DeAngelo (Eben Pagan) – Man Transformation program (Bonus Disc 1 – Ultimate Time Management & Productivity) and other wisdom I have acquired.

Renewal

Your body, emotions and mind have natural renewal systems. They renew, rebuild and repair themselves. When you get sick, do you think that you have anything to do with getting rid of it? No, your body does it.

Renewal is supporting your body’s natural systems of renewal. You are refueling the Ferrari. Proactive Renewal is the single most powerful force when it comes to building this foundation.

Take 1-2 days per week off – completely from your work (off course not from spiritual practice and other positive stuff). And if your job is to sit on the computer at home don’t do it on the rest days even if you wouldn’t be working. Go enjoy yourself doing personal activities. And when you do them, they have to be clean focus. Get away for a week every 90 days.

3 Times Of Renewal

1. throughout the day

2. weekly: 1-2 days at least

3. quarterly: for a week at least

3 Levels Of Renewal

Physical Renewal

– exercise

– yoga

– relaxation

– massage

– sleep

Emotional Renewal

– laugh

– repair relationships

– spend time with people that make you feel great

– cry

– enjoy your emotions

Mental Renewal

– educate yourself

– take your mind to the next level

– relax it – meditation

Do not read the news or watch some stupid TV stuff. Educational stuff is okay, but keep TV low. Watching funny or interesting programs at set times off course OK. Renewal of the human spirit is the number 1 priority – doing things that get you more in touch with your mission, your contribution to the world – as a ritual.

I think now of health and wellness as the ultimate way to leverage your time, your relationships, the quality of your life and your overall success. Nothing will give you as high a Return On Investment. The healthier I get, the better the time of my whole life and capacity I have. The quality of time gets dramatically increased based on our level of health and wellness. Health and Wellness in Western world has connotation of visiting your doctor, what you do when you are sick. Drugs and hospital, so on. Really fascinating paradigm…

Health and Wellness however in reality is the natural state of the human body. You can claim it anytime you want. The way to do it is to create positive rituals that support our health and wellness. Pursuing your peak health might be the most fulfilling thing you can do in life. You have to look past the cultural stuff and things that it says on packing of food, so on.

Staying Well

Eben Pagan have lost about 25 pounds and exercises daily by now. I don’t know if he meditates regularly but he has said in Man Transformation seminar that he does regularly yoga.

Key Realization

– Your body knows what to do to heal and renew itself. And you don’t. So what can you do? You can support your natural systems with all the raw material that they need. Only you can do that. Intermittent fasting may also help. David Wolfe says that when you are sick your body is essentially communicating to hide, be quiet, sleep, fast and stay grounded.
